Job Details

We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Intern to support data collection and research activities. The intern will gather information from reliable sources, organise and verify data, and help prepare clear summaries and reports for the team. This role suits a candidate comfortable with online research, spreadsheets, and careful documentation

Key responsibilities:

·       Conduct online and desk research to collect information and data relevant to assigned projects.

·       Identify and use suitable sources, and record source details so that collected information can be checked and referenced.

·       Enter, organise, format, and maintain data in spreadsheets and internal trackers.

·       Review collected information for completeness, consistency, and accuracy; flag missing, conflicting, or unclear data.

·       Compare information across sources and help verify findings before they are included in reports.

·       Prepare concise research notes, data summaries, and basic reports or presentations for the team.

·       Coordinate with team members to clarify research requirements, share progress, and complete assigned tasks on time.

·       Handle information responsibly and follow the team's data-handling and documentation practices.

Requirements (Qualifications/Experience/Competencies)

·       Recently completed a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics or a related field.

·       Good online research and information-gathering skills, with the ability to identify relevant and credible sources.

·       Strong working knowledge of MS Excel or Google Sheets, including data entry, sorting, filtering, and formatting.

·       Strong attention to detail and ability to check information carefully.

·       Good written communication skills to record findings and prepare clear summaries.

·       Good organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines.

·       Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work collaboratively with the team.


Preferred / Added Advantage


·       Experience with academic projects, surveys, desk research, or data collection.

·       Basic familiarity with data cleaning, charts, or presentation tools.

·       Basic knowledge of a programming language or data analysis tool.

Role Focus

This internship primarily focuses on data collection, research, verification, and documentation. Advanced data analysis, data modelling, and data-pipeline development are not core requirements for this role.
