Tomy Varghese, Founder and CEO of Timesworld, was conferred the Business Excellence Award at the 2nd International Conference on Sustainability and Technology in Higher Education (ICSTHE 2026) held at Amity University Dubai.


The award recognises his contributions to technology innovation, data-driven enterprise solutions, and the advancement of artificial intelligence across sectors including healthcare, governance, and enterprise technology. Through Timesworld, Tomy Varghese has led several initiatives that combine research, data analytics, and technology development to support organisations and public institutions in making informed and impactful decisions.

As part of the conference, he also participated in a panel discussion held under the theme Educated World, Empowered World. The discussion brought together leaders from academia and industry to examine how artificial intelligence, sustainability, and innovation can shape the future of education and the global workforce.

During the discussion, Tomy Varghese highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between universities and industry to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical industry needs. Drawing from his experience in early artificial intelligence research and his current work in AI-driven data systems and healthcare innovation, he emphasised that education must evolve alongside emerging technologies.


He also spoke about Timesworld’s Innovation Catalyst programme, an initiative designed to expose students and young professionals to real industry challenges. The programme focuses on mentoring emerging talent, encouraging innovation, and helping participants understand how technology, data, and research can be applied to solve real-world problems.

ICSTHE 2026 served as an important platform for global thought leaders to exchange perspectives on the evolving relationship between education, technology, and sustainability, reinforcing the role of collaborative efforts in building a more empowered and future-ready world.
